You can grab the uprights on the corners and shake the whole Jeep without the rack flexing at all. The Gobi JK Rack flows true to the lines of the vehicle the automaker intended. I HAD the Gobi rack and sold it for primarily two reasons. For comparison I went from getting 135 MPG with the rack to 16 MPG after I removed it from the Jeep.
